Unit raising & first-year operations
Your school has been allotted an NCC sub-unit. Now the institution has to operationalise it. We provide the selection-process design, the enrolment-paperwork templates, the uniform vendor playbook, the training-calendar template, and the audit-readiness kit. The institution — through its ANO and principal — executes every step: cadet selection, Form I submissions, vendor purchases, parade conduct, portal entries, and Battalion meetings.
Independence statement. NCC.training is an independent education consultancy and is not affiliated with the NCC, DGNCC, the Ministry of Defence, or any government body. We do not act on the institution's behalf with the parent Battalion, the NCC, the Directorate, or any State or government department. We provide selection-process designs, documentation templates, training-calendar templates, vendor playbooks, and audit-readiness kits. The institution — through its ANO and principal — coordinates with the Battalion and conducts every submission, parade, and follow-up. All NCC-level decisions remain with the NCC.
What this engagement covers
12 months from allotment through the end of your first annual cycle. The goal: a stable unit that doesn't appear on any audit-risk shortlist at the 2-year mark.
Cadet enrolment — templates we provide; institution executes
- Selection-process design — advertisement template, application form, screening criteria, physical-fitness-check protocol, merit-list format. Aligned with Form I requirements. The institution publishes the advertisement, screens candidates, and signs off the merit list.
- Form I enrolment packet templates for every cadet, plus a parental-consent template for minors (mandatory per Rule 1 of NCC enrolment regulations). The institution collects signatures and lodges the packets.
- Medical-fitness protocol the school's panel doctor follows, plus a pre-flight referral template. The institution coordinates with its panel doctor; we do not coordinate with any third-party medical provider.
- NIS / NER portal field guide — where the Directorate runs the NCC Integrated Software or a state-level e-enrolment system, the ANO performs every portal submission using our step-by-step field guide. We do not log in to or submit on any NCC or government portal.
Uniform & equipment — vendor playbook
- Vendor-selection playbook for uniforms (Army OG, Naval white, Air sky-blue), boots, headgear, insignia — vendor shortlist criteria, sample purchase-order template, quality-acceptance checklist.
- Training-equipment list with sourcing notes: drill canes (where applicable), prismatic compass for map reading, maps, weapon-cleaning material.
- Storage and inventory setup guide for the school's NCC office. The institution issues every purchase order, pays every vendor, and operates its NCC office.
Training calendar — templates and playbooks
- Weekly parade-schedule template, to be aligned by the ANO with the parent Battalion's institutional training calendar.
- Theory class-plan template covering NCC general, drill, weapon training, map reading, leadership, social service. The ANO delivers every class.
- Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) nomination kit — cadet shortlisting criteria, packing list, fitness-preparation programme, parental-consent template. The institution shortlists, prepares, and dispatches every nomination.
- National-camp competition playbook (RDC / TSC / NSC / VSC) — selection criteria and 12-month preparation calendar. The institution nominates, registers, and tracks; we do not nominate or track on the institution's behalf.
Battalion engagement — institution executes; we provide the kit
- Quarterly Battalion-meeting cadence template — agenda, briefing format, minutes template. The institution's principal and ANO attend and conduct every meeting.
- Documentation-system templates: attendance register, training record, ANO journal, cadet file. The ANO maintains every live record using the templates.
- Republic Day & Independence Day parade-nomination kit — eligibility criteria, nomination-letter template, parental-consent template. The institution nominates, submits, and supervises participation.

Why first-year matters disproportionately
The 2–3-year performance-audit cycle starts the moment your unit is sanctioned. A weak first year — attendance gaps, certificate pass-rate dips, missed camp participation, weak documentation — surfaces directly in the first audit window. Schools that lose their unit in the first audit have to rejoin the waitlist.
The cleanest path to a stable unit is to over-prepare in Year 1. The cadets you select, the parade discipline you set, the documentation systems you build — all of it shows up in audit.
Operationalise your unit cleanly
12 months of structured first-year support. You start with a roster, a calendar, a parade ground, and a turn-key documentation system.
